Magnolia Boulevard to be closed for repairs next week

SEATTLE-SDOT will take advantage of good weather forecasted for next week to make repairs on Magnolia Boulevard West in the Magnolia neighborhood before winter weather closes in.

SDOT crews will close Magnolia Boulevard between West Garfield Street and West Howe Street from Tuesday, October 30 to Friday, November 2, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, to all through traffic except King County Metro Transit and school buses. The street will remain open to pedestrians.

Traffic southbound on Magnolia Boulevard will be detoured to West Howe Street, and then to 28th Avenue West. Northbound traffic will be detoured to 28th Avenue West, Condon Way West, and then to West McGraw Street.

The crews plan to grind off the old asphalt on Tuesday and Wednesday, and lay new asphalt on Thursday and Friday.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
