Walkway construction to close a lane on NE 110th

SEATTLE-SDOT is beginning work Monday, October 22 to improve an asphalt walkway on NE 110th from Lake City Way to 30th Avenue NE near Nathan Hale High School. Eastbound traffic on 110th will be detoured from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekdays for approximately one month, except that eastbound school buses will be allowed to drive through the construction area. The work will not affect westbound traffic.

The community requested City of Seattle Neighborhood Street Funds for this project because the old walkway had sunk into the ground in places and cars sometimes parked on the walkway. The SDOT paving crews will rebuild the walkway and install a concrete curb. The project will provide enhanced pedestrian safety for high school students and neighborhood residents.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
