Alaskan Way Viaduct Guardrail Work this Week

SEATTLE-Starting today, October 8, through Friday, October 12, SDOT bridge crews will be repairing damaged guardrails on the Alaskan Way Viaduct near South Massachusetts Street. Work has begun on two prior repair jobs in the right lane at that location and will wrap up at noon, at which time the crews will shift to working on the left guardrail until 3:00 p.m. today. For the remainder of the week, work will continue in the far left lane northbound and the lane will be closed from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day.

Please use caution through the work zone.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
