Terry Avenue to become one-way from Thomas to Mercer streets

SEATTLE-SDOT will soon begin testing the new Seattle Streetcar in South Lake Union. To allow the streetcar to share space with other traffic on Terry Avenue North, starting Sunday, October 7 this street will become one-way northbound between Thomas and Mercer streets. Terry Avenue North will remain two-way from John Street to Denny Way.

Also to prepare for the new streetcar, within two weeks parking will be removed on the south side of Harrison Street between Terry and Fairview avenues.

The Streetcar will begin operation by the end of this year, linking downtown Seattle with the South Lake Union Area and serving as an important element of traffic circulation in Center City.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $8 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
