PUBLIC HEARING: LESSONS FROM THE WINDSTORM
WHAT: Special Joint Meeting of the Environment, Emergency Management and Utilities Committee and the Energy and Technology Committee
Council will hear from the public on experiences during and after December storm
WHERE: Council Chambers, City Hall, Second Floor, 600 Fourth Avenue
WHEN: Wednesday, January 3, 2007, 5:30 p.m.
WHY: To hear public comment on Seattleites’ experiences during and after the December 14 windstorm.
Councilmember Godden, chair of the Energy and Technology committee, said, “We look forward to hearing from citizens about their experiences. It is vitally important to learn the lessons of this storm—what went well, what went wrong and how we can prepare better for future emergencies.” Councilmember Conlin, chair of the Environment, Emergency Management and Utilities Committee, said, “It is vital that we hear from the public about how the City performed during this storm, so we can understand the strengths and weaknesses of the City’s emergency preparedness systems.”
