Seattle Police Promote Officers to Leadership Ranks
Led by Chief Gil Kerlikowske, the Seattle Police Department today promoted 11 officers to various ranks. They were recognized for their leadership and accomplishments, and joined by colleagues, family and friends at the Bertha Knight Landes Room in the City Hall Building.
Promoted to the rank of lieutenant are Scott Bachler, a 16-year veteran who received a King County Superior Court Award for Bravery in 1995; Michael Edwards, a 26-year veteran and who served as president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild from 1995 to 2001; and Norman James, a 37-year veteran who is now assigned to the Southwest Precinct in patrol operations.
Promoted to the rank of sergeant are William Edwards assigned to Internal Investigations; Seth Dietrich, William Moran, Thomas Ovens, and Keith Swank assigned to Communications; Dale Garnica assigned to the East Precinct; Joseph Maccarrone assigned to the Southwest Precinct; and Brett Rogers assigned to the West Precinct.
