Three Arrested in Connection with Beacon Hill Arson and Murder

Yesterday morning, at about 9:15 AM, Oregon State Police stopped a silver BMW that had been stolen from the scene of an arson and homicide in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. The stop took place just off of Interstate 5, about 21 miles North of Roseburg. Detectives from the Seattle Police Homicide Unit immediately flew to Oregon to interview the suspects. The suspects have since been booked into Douglas County Jail, and await extradition back to Seattle. The BMW has been impounded for evidentiary purposes.

  • Richard D. Schuler, 32, booked for Investigation of Murder, Arson and Auto Theft.
  • Douglas A. Freeman, 31, booked for Investigation of Rendering Criminal Assistance and Auto Theft.
  • Ashley N. Boggess, 21, booked for Investigation of Rendering Criminal Assistance and Auto Theft.
