New ezine, Brainstorm, now online
City seeks to strengthen community access to
technology and close digital divide

SEATTLE - The City of Seattle Department of Information Technology today launched Brainstorm, its new community technology ezine. Brainstorm is located on the City’s website at http://cityofseattle.net/tech/brainstorm/

Brainstorm is an electronic magazine written for anyone interested in improving community access to technology. It will share events, curriculum, grant information, tech support, and ideas that make community technology work easier.

"The City of Seattle is committed to promoting a technology healthy community," said Mayor Greg Nickels. "This is one more tool in our effort to close the digital divide."

Brainstorm will be published monthly and subscribers will be notified by email link.

The first issue contains articles on digital empowerment, free ESL curriculum and more. To subscribe to Brainstorm, email Cass Magnuski at cass.magnuski@seattle.gov

The Department of Information Technology’s community technology program promotes projects that give residents the information technology training and access needed to ensure civic and cultural participation, employment and lifelong learning.
