Mayor Greg Nickels to take calls on The Seattle Channel

SEATTLE — Mayor Greg Nickels will take calls from listeners during "Ask the Mayor" at 7 p.m. on October 10, 2002.

Among topics for discussion is Mayor Nickels’ proposed budget which recently was forwarded to the City Council. The 2002-03 budget focuses on basic City services and "taking care of business," while responding to a $60 million revenue shortfall. Information about the proposed budget is posted on the mayor’s home page (http://cityofseattle.net/mayor).

The live call-in show will be hosted by C.R. Douglas on Seattle’s municipal cable channel. The call-in number is (206) 684-8821. Douglas will also collect email questions for the mayor through 5 p.m. the day of the show. Send your queries to this email address: seattle.citizen@seattle.gov

The Seattle Channel is available on channel 21 for AT&T Broadband cable customers and channel 28 for Millennium cable customers. About 58 percent of Seattle residents subscribe to cable television.

The Seattle Channel is also webcast around the clock on the Internet. The same programming carried on the city municipal channel is simultaneously streamed on-line.
