Pronto Cycle Share celebrates its half-birthday with Pronto Week
Pronto Week will include special events and promotions for members April 13-19

SEATTLE – April marks six months of operation for the Northwest’s first bike share system, Pronto Cycle Share. To celebrate bike share’s half-birthday and first spring in Seattle, Pronto will host a series of rider-appreciation events and promotions throughout the week of April 13-19, which it officially deems Pronto Week.

After a strong start during the city’s most fickle weather season, Pronto anticipates marked ridership increases as spring and summer kick into high gear. Pronto Week celebrates the program’s early success and heralds even stronger ridership to come with sunnier weather.

“We have had an incredibly successful start in Seattle,” said Pronto Cycle Share Executive Director Holly Houser. “We’ve seen great turnout in our first six months, even after launching during Seattle’s rainy season. It’s really encouraging that residents and visitors have already demonstrated the value of bike share as a viable public transportation option. We’re excited for what’s to come."

Since October 2014, Pronto users have biked more than 87,000 miles and logged over 46,000 trips. The nearly 2,400 annual members and thousands of short-term pass holders have burned 3.7 million calories by going Pronto.

To make Pronto even more accessible to residents and the millions of visitors that flock to Seattle each year, all Pronto kiosks will also now be equipped with Spanish and Simplified Chinese language options.

During Pronto Week, the organization will reward new and existing riders with membership discounts, special deals from participating businesses, member-appreciation events, a few big reveals and plenty of little surprises.

For the week of April 13-19, Seattleites and visitors can expect:
