SEATTLE— The Seattle Department of Transportation invites the Southeast Seattle community to attend upcoming meetings to continue the discussion about how to enhance safety on Rainier Avenue South for drivers, transit-users, bicyclists and pedestrians.

SDOT received input at two community meetings in November, and now is returning with potential safety improvements for community review and additional feedback for possible design changes.

SDOT invites you to one of the following meetings:

6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
The Columbia School – Cafeteria/Commons
3528 South Ferdinand Street (use the South Edmunds Street entrance and parking area)

Tuesday, March 3, 2015*
6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

*Additional information will be presented about upcoming transportation projects in the Rainier Beach neighborhood at this meeting

SDOT Director Scott Kubly explained, “We are pleased we are able to provide design alternatives for consideration by the community that will improve safety on Rainier Avenue South. This will help advance our Vision Zero campaign with the goal of ending traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030 through innovative engineering, enforcement and education.”
