Seattle Streetcar fares to change in March

SEATTLE— The Seattle Department of Transportation invites the public to comment on changes planned for Seattle Streetcar fares to make them consistent with Link light rail fares. The changes will occur in coordination with Sound Transit and King County Metro fare changes planned for March 2015.

The proposed changes would reduce the streetcar fare for most adults by 25 cents, increase fares for youth, senior citizens and disabled persons (Regional Reduced Fare Permit) by 25 cents, provide a new low-income adult fare, and make a day pass available to the general public. Children five years old and under would continue to ride for free. (For complete information see the fare table below and go to www.seattlestreetcar.org/farechange.htm.)

SDOT invites the public to comment on the proposed fare changes at a public meeting on Feb. 2, or to comment online, by email, or U.S. Mail through Feb. 9.
