Normal Solid Waste Collections for Independence Day
South Transfer Station Open July 4

SEATTLE—Seattle garbage, food and yard waste and recycling collections will be on normal schedule for Independence Day, Friday, July 4. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) customers should place their containers out for collection by 7 a.m. to ensure collection.

Customers can report a Friday missed garbage, yard waste or recycling collection after 8 a.m. on Monday by calling (206) 684-3000 or by visiting SPU’s web site at: www.seattle.gov/util.

The City of Seattle’s South Transfer Station is open extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. The South Transfer Station is at 130 South Kenyon Street in South Park. Directions, station hours and traffic cams are at www.seattle.gov/util/Dump.

Seattle Public Utilities can also pick up your bulky items—old furniture, mattresses, appliances and the like. The cost is $30 per item, $38 for items containing CFCs, such as refrigerators. Call (206) 684-3000 to arrange a bulky item collection.
