Normal Solid Waste Collections for MLK Holiday
North Recycling and Disposal Station Closing Jan. 21
SEATTLE — Seattle food and yard waste, garbage and recycling collections will be on normal schedule for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 20. Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) customers should place their containers out for collection by 7 a.m. to ensure collection.
The City of Seattle’s North Transfer Station in the Fremont/Wallingford area and the South Transfer Station in the South Park area will be open on Monday, Jan. 20, during regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The North Transfer Station will close at 5:30 pm on January 20 for a station rebuild. The new North Transfer Station is expected to open in 2016.
Customers can report a missed garbage, recycling or food and yard waste collection by calling (206) 684-3000 during regular business hours on Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by visiting the Online Missed Collection form.
