Update: Tree in Power Lines Causing Outage and Closure of SR 522 in Lake Forest Park

SEATTLE — A large tree has broken two power poles and brought the full closure of SR 522 (Bothell Way NE). Crews are working to restore power and clear the roadway. Traffic is being detoured during commute hours. At its peak the outage affected 7,500 customers. Approximately 1,300 customers remain without power.

Clean up and power restoration could last into this afternoon.

Customers can get outage information online at www.seattle.gov/light/sysstat.

Seattle City Light is the tenth largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable and environmentally responsible power to nearly 1 million Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utility in the nation to achieve that distinction.
