Community Meeting for S. Riverside Street End and Shoreline Improvement Project in the South Park neighborhood

Seattle Parks and Recreation, Seattle Department of Transportation, Port of Seattle and Seattle Parks Foundation invite you to a public meeting to discuss the S Riverside Street End and Shoreline Improvement project. The community meeting is Thursday, July 26, 2012, from 5– 7 p.m. at South Park Community Center, 8319 8th Ave. S.

This is the second project community meeting and Parks staff will present a preferred conceptual design. It is a part of a larger shoreline improvement effort funded by the Parks and Green Spaces Levy. The Levy provides funding for planning, design, permitting and construction for 11 street end projects.

The S Riverside Street End and Shoreline Improvement project includes opening the street end for public use by removing trash, restoring the shoreline along the Duwamish River, and installing a pathway, benches, native landscaping, signage and possibly other access improvements. Design and public involvement will take place this summer of 2012 and anticipate that construction completed in December 2012.

For additional information, please contact Cheryl Eastberg, Coordinator, Seattle Parks and Recreation, at 206-386-4381 cheryl.eastberg@seattle.gov  or visit http://seattle.gov/parks/levy/environment.htm
