Seattle Parks host meeting for Green Lake Bench Pads
Seattle Parks and Recreation is hosting a community meeting on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Green Lake Community Center to collect comments on the design and use of the new bench pads located on the eastside of the lake between the community center and the beach. Green Lake Community Center is located at 7201 E. Green Lake Dr. N.
The intent of this project is to provide a variety of seating opportunities for park users. The new benches would allow citizens to sit back to back and view the lake or watch the stream of walkers, runners and rolling activities on the Green Lake path. The purpose of the meeting is to explain the background of the bench project and gather feedback from community members.
These special double backed park benches feature curved forms, arm rests, and hard wood seats and backs. The benches were once located in Westlake Park in downtown Seattle. The benches will be accessible for people with disabilities.
