Installation of rock sculptures begins at Counterbalance Park
On Monday, June 4, 2012, WS Contractors begins installing five basalt pieces in Counterbalance Park. The installation includes two sculptured basalt columns and three basalt sitting stones. The project is anticipated to take two weeks. Counterbalance Park is located at corner of Queen Anne Ave N and Roy St.
The community celebrated the park opening in July 2008. The name honors the counterbalance trolley system that once took people up and down Queen Anne Avenue, a unique element of Seattle's history, and identifies the site as a community gathering place, a place for art, activity, and enjoyment.
