Seattle City Council to discuss Families and Education Levy ballot proposal

Seattle – The City Council will convene tomorrow at noon for the first meeting of the Special Committee on Educational Achievement for Seattle Schoolchildren. Over the next two months, this committee will deliberate on a ballot proposal for renewal of the City’s Families and Education Levy.

WHEN:          Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, noon

WHERE:        Council Chambers, Second Floor
                        Seattle City Hall, 600 Fourth Avenue

WHAT:           Representatives of the Seattle School District and Council and Mayoral staff will detail their respective roles in the levy formation process. Citizen members of the Levy Advisory Committee will provide an overview of the Committee’s recommendations to the Council and the Mayor.
