Paving on Roosevelt Way NE Rescheduled

SEATTLE – Weather permitting, Wednesday, December 16, a Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) crew will begin working in the two right lanes southbound on Roosevelt Way NE between NE 64 th Street and NE 55 th Street.  The work hours will be from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.  The SDOT crew will grind down the surface layer of asphalt in the curb right lane and part of the middle right hand lane.   On Thursday and Friday, December 17-18, the crew will pave the lanes, opening them up to traffic as the new asphalt cures.   If needed, the crew will return and complete the paving on Monday and Tuesday, December 21-22.  During the project, the sidewalk will remain open to pedestrians and access to the businesses will be maintained. Motorists should plan on a slight delay through the work zone.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
