Seattle LGBT Equality March

SEATTLE— A march and rally for the Seattle LGBT Equality Weekend is planned for Sunday, October 11. Seattle Police Officers will escort the march starting at 3 p.m. at Volunteer Park and ending at the Federal Courthouse at Seventh and Stewart Street. An estimated 4,000 people will participate.

The march will start at 12th Avenue and East Prospect Street; head west on East Prospect Street to 10th Avenue East; south on 10th Avenue to Broadway East; south on Broadway to East Pine Street; west on Pine to 7th Avenue; north on 7th to Federal Courthouse at Stewart Street.

There will be a rally on the plaza of the courthouse following the march.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
