Railroad Crossing Repairs Begin Saturday

SEATTLE – Starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday, October 10, the Burlington Northern Sante Fe Railroad will be making repairs to the railroad crossing at S Horton Street and S Colorado Avenue.  During the anticipated five-day work schedule, S Horton Street will be closed from S Colorado Avenue to E Marginal Way S.  Traffic travelling east or west on S Horton Street will be detoured one block north to S Hanford Street. The roadway should reopen to traffic by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
