Final Asphalt Paving on Stewart Street Thursday Night

Seattle – A contractor working for the Seattle Department of Transportation will pave the last section of Stewart Street tomorrow night, September 24. Stewart Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic between Westlake and First avenues throughout the night with paving starting as early as 6:00 p.m. Thursday night and concluding at 6:00 a.m. Friday morning.

During the paving, there will be periodic cross street and driveway interruptions. Uniformed police officers and flaggers will be on site to offer assistance and keep traffic moving.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
