Marion Street Overnight Paving Delayed
Lane restrictions for Wednesday traffic

SEATTLE — Due to delays in overnight paving, traffic on Marion Street will be restricted to one lane from Western to Sixth avenues on Wednesday, September 23. The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) will deploy extra resources, to include additional police officers, to ensure that traffic flows as smoothly as possible. Given the limited capacity, roadway users are asked to use other routes if possible.

To aid with traffic on and near the roadway, the department has already coordinated with King County Metro Transit and Washington State Ferries representatives. SDOT anticipates completing paving work on Marion Street Wednesday night.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
