Microsoft to Hold Annual Employee Meeting Tomorrow at Safeco Field
Plan on possible traffic delays

SEATTLE - Microsoft will hold its Annual Employee Meeting at Safeco Field tomorrow, Thursday, September 10, from 11:00 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. Approximately 20,000 attendees will be arriving by private vehicles and some 200 charter buses.

In the morning the buses will exit I-5 via the Dearborn and Forest Street off-ramps and will park at four locations north and south of Safeco Field: Home Plate at First Avenue S and S Atlantic Street, Safeco Field Garage Plaza just south of Edgar Martinez Drive and on the WOSCA site on First Avenue S and S Royal Brougham Way. Private cars will exit at the Fourth Avenue S off-ramp from I-5 and I-90 and will park primarily at the Qwest Event Center Garage, the Safeco Field Garage and the Union Station Garage. In the afternoon it is anticipated that all buses and private cars will access I-90 via Edgar Martinez Drive.

The Seattle Department of Transportation advises motorists to plan on congestion on the streets near Safeco Field between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., and from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Seattle Police Department officers will direct traffic through the area.

The Seattle Department of Transportation builds, maintains and operates Seattle's $12 billion transportation infrastructure. To further Mayor Nickels’ goal to get Seattle moving, the department manages short- and long-term investments in streets, bridges, pavement and trees, that better connect the city with the region.
