Project Development

Project Development will take place from March 18 – April 12, 2019.

Below is an overview of the 2018 project development process.

In Project Development, community members took the ideas submitted during the Idea Collection phase and prioritized them to 8-10 ideas per Council District.

  • There were opportunities to participate in Project Development meetings in each Council District. Participants were responsible for evaluating the project ideas that were submitted based on need at the project location & community benefit of the proposed project and gave projects numerical ratings.
  • Each Project Development meeting was supported by Your Voice, Your Choice staff who ensured that community members have the necessary resources and tools to evaluate projects.
  • Anyone could participate in Project Development if they lived, worked, went to school, received services, volunteered, or had a connection to the City of Seattle.
  • Project lists were divided geographically within Council Districts. We provided information in advance on which lists will be discussed at which meetings. People who were unable to attend a particular meeting, but wanted to evaluate the Project List that was discussed at that meeting, were welcome to attend another meeting in the same Council District. For example, if you were interested in Rainier Beach projects, but could not attend the meeting at the Rainier Beach Branch Library, you could access that Project List at any other meeting in District 2: Georgetown Stables, Columbia Branch Library, El Centro de la Raza, or New Holly Gathering Hall.
