P-Patch Community Gardens Are Growing
with help from the Parks and Green Spaces Levy! Get the Flash Player to see this rotator.
In 2008, for the first time Seattle voters approved a levy that included $2 million in funding for new community garden projects. Interest and demand for community gardening is growing in Seattle where residents recognize community gardening as an important part of vibrant and sustainable neighborhoods. The Department of Neighborhoods is thrilled to have this opportunity to respond by partnering with neighbors to build new P-Patch community gardens. Thank You Seattle Voters! We take the stewardship of public money to heart. Between 2009 and 2013 we’ll leverage the original funding for 4 community gardens to build at least 15 new and expanded gardens. We can do this thanks to great partnerships with neighborhood volunteers and other community partners. Find more information about our levy-funded work below.
