Tickets available for P-Patch Trust's Chef in the Garden on July 18
Join Chef Tom Douglas for al fresco dining event at Interbay P-Patch

July 9, 2012 (Seattle, WA) - Renowned chef Tom Douglas will again bring his genius for magical menus to the P-Patch Trust's annual Chef in the Garden event on Wednesday, July 18. Held al fresco at the Interbay P-Patch (2451 15th Ave W), the evening will feature Tom preparing an array of dishes that emphasize locally sourced, garden-fresh ingredients and innovative flavor combinations. Some of the ingredients for the dishes will come from P-Patch community gardens  and the courses will be paired with fine Northwest wines.

Hors d'oeuvres, wine, and other beverages will be served beginning at 6 p.m., and guests are welcome to stroll through the extensive Interbay P-Patch - one of the city's largest and most developed - with glass in hand. A wide array of food- and garden-related silent auction items will also be available for bidding. Seating for the four-course dinner will be at 7 p.m.

All-inclusive tickets are $125. They can be purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets or in person at Brown Paper Ticket locations. The dinner is limited to 100 people.

Chef in the Garden is the P-Patch Trust's primary fund-raising effort. The P-Patch Trust is a nonprofit organization that works to acquire, build and protect community gardens in Seattle's neighborhoods. The Trust partners with the P-Patch Community Gardening Program and owns several garden sites. It strives to provide community gardening opportunities for all Seattle residents, particularly those of low income, and promotes donations of produce to local food banks.

The Menu
Tom's menu this year will feature wood oven-roasted young goat with tomatoes, rosemary, cinnamon, toasted couscous, and harissa aioli. The vegetarian entrée will be braised cannellini beans, artichokes, fennel, chard and roasted cauliflower.  Appetizers will include burrata and olive bread with sea salt and olive oil; garlic-stuffed olive kebobs; and crab-and-greens bruschetta. The first seated course will be spinach soup with zucchini relish, followed by a salad of salted tuna and Padron peppers. Baked peaches with Amaretti cookies and vanilla zabaglione will complete the meal.
