New P-Patch community garden coming to an Uptown “rooftop”
Community members invited to informational meeting on Nov. 17

November 3, 2011 (Seattle, WA) – A new P-Patch community garden is taking root in the Uptown neighborhood. In partnership with neighborhood volunteers and Seattle Center, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is developing a new P-Patch on top of the Mercer Garage at 3rd Avenue N and Mercer Street.  The Queen Anne community is invited to an informational meeting to learn about the rooftop garden, the timeline for design and construction, and how to get involved.

What:         Rooftop P-Patch community garden informational meeting
When:        Thursday, November 17 from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
Where:       Shaw Room at Seattle Center, 305 Harrison Street, 98109. Room is located near KeyArena.

This project is funded through the 2008 Parks and Green Spaces Levy which dedicated $2 million to P-Patch Community Garden development. With this funding, the P-Patch Community Gardening Program in partnership with community volunteers is supporting 20 new or expanded P-Patch gardens.
