Veronica Sherman-King named
director of Planning and Community Building
for Seattle Department of Neighborhoods
SEATTLE, WA -- Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is pleased to announce its newest Director of Planning and Community Building, Veronica Sherman-King. Veronica will oversee the P-Patch Community Gardening Program, Neighborhood Matching Fund Program, Neighborhood Planning Outreach, and the Neighborhood District Coordinators Program, among other things. She was promoted from her position as Manager of Neighborhood District Coordinators into this open position.
Prior to working with Seattle Department of Neighborhoods, Veronica served as the Director of Resident Services for the Housing Authority of Portland, as well as the manager for the Hope 6 Community Supportive Services Program, where she was later promoted to Director. Originally from Oregon, she studied at the University of Oregon and later went on to receive her Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pittsburgh.
Seattle Department of Neighborhoods provides programs and service that engage residents in civic participation, foster stronger communities, make government more accessible, and preserve and enhance the character of Seattle’s neighborhoods.
