Public Outreach As Local Reuse Authority for the redevelopment of Fort Lawton, the City of Seattle is facilitating public involvement to create a plan that adheres to federal guidelines while ensuring Fort Lawton becomes a livable and diverse mixed-income community, balancing all of the priorities while appropriately fitting into the surrounding neighborhood. Throughout 2006 and 2007, the City held a series of meetings to inform the public of the process for redevelopment and potential uses for the site, as well as to gather public feedback. Since being named the local reuse authority, the City has identified partners and engaged the public in planning for the development of the reuse plan. See a contact list for all partners.
