2011 Families and Education Levy
We administer the Seattle Families and Education Levy which supports positive child and youth development programs that will help all of Seattle's children become school ready, succeed academically, and graduate from high school. The Families and Education Levy is a 7-year Levy, currently operating on funds from the newest Levy passed in November 2011. Learn more.

Partnerships
Forming partnerships between the City and the schools is critical to building quality
learning environments and helping our schools strengthen academic achievement. We also join with community and business leaders
and philanthropists around the region to support programs to help kids
thrive. Learn More
Seattle Youth Violence Prevention Initiative
In 2008, five teenagers were shot to death in Seattle. Earlier in the year, former Mayor Nickels brought together community leaders, principals, members of the faith community and others to develop a new approach to preventing youth and gang-related violence.
The Seattle Youth Violence Prevention Initiative sets a new direction by identifying and helping young people who are at a vulnerable point in their lives and are at highest risk of perpetuating violence or becoming victims. Read more about the Initiative here.
