Purpose

The current Levy Oversight Committee (LOC) was established by Ordinance 123567 (Adobe PDF) to review and advise upon implementation plans, evaluation plans, the City of Seattle/Seattle School District Partnership Agreement, expenditures and allocations of proceeds, and to make recommendations on the implementation of particular programs.

The Committee developed proposals for a renewal of the Levy in 2011 via an expanded Levy Advisory Committee. Policy Framework

The LOC, with expert and community input, has adopted a policy framework for renewal of the levy. It outlines levy goals, the role of the City of Seattle, and potential strategic areas of investment. The policy framework also lists the desired outcomes from levy investments and expectations for accountability.

The Levy Oversight Committee consists of twelve (12) members serving staggered three-year terms. They are:

	Mayor Mike McGinn or designee
	Tim Burgess, City Council
	Michael DeBell, Seattle School Board
	José Banda, School Superintendent
	Elise Chayet, citizen representative
	Sandi Everlove, citizen representative
	Lucy Gaskill-Gaddis, citizen representative
	Cristina Gonzalez, citizen representative
	Sheeba Jacob, citizen representative
	Charles Knutson, citizen representative
	Kevin Washington, citizen representative
	Greg Wong, citizen representative
