Welcome to the North District!
The Thornton Creek watershed is a major natural feature of the North District. Various Thornton Creek parks and natural areas are sprinkled throughout the district, ranging from the wetlands at North Seattle Community College to Meadowbrook Pond to Matthews Beach on the shore of Lake Washington. A wide variety of programs and activities is available at the district’s three community centers: Lake City, Meadowbrook, and Northgate. There are two branch libraries: Lake City and Northgate. North Seattle Community College is an excellent educational institution and community resource. The Nathan Hale High School has a performing arts center and shares athletic fields with the City Parks Department at the Meadowbrook complex.
