2008 Small Neighborhood Street Fund Projects In early 2008, Department of Neighborhoods asked community leaders to work with their neighbors to identify and prioritize projects that will inform the City's Cumulative Reserve Fund (CRF) and Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF) project decisions. This partnership, between the city and its neighborhoods, has been extremely valuable to identifing priority projects by community members. In anticipation of having a $1 million Cumulative Reserve Fund (CRF) and $240,000 Neighborhood Street Fund (NSF) in next year's city budget, community members were invited to participate in the CRF/NSF Allocation Process by submitting project proposals in early 2008 Many great applications were received thoughout Seattle and it was often difficult for District Councils to decide on the first cut. In April, District Councils selected their top ranked projects and submitted those to the City for feasibility and cost estimates. The following lists upcoming benchmarks: June 13th—Seattle Department of Transportation and Department of Parks and Recreation will provide information on feasibility as well as cost estimates to the District Councils for their selected projects. Mid June-Mid July—District Councils will review and rank their selected projects based on City cost estimates. July 18th—District Councils will return their ranked list of selected projects to the City August—City staff will make funding allocation recommendations based on District Council ranking. September—Allocations are included in Mayor’s proposed budget. November—City Council considers Mayor’s recommendations and adopts the 2009 budget. 2009—Small Neighborhood Street Fund projects from 2008 are designed & constructed. Early 2009--NSF small application process will open up for the 2010 funding round. Eligible uses of the Funds:
