Security Training for Nightlife Employees
The Seattle Police Department offers a Security Training Program with classes open to the public several times a year. These classes are not just for security personnel. Security training is imperative for individuals who work physical security or screen patrons at the door. It is also extremely beneficial to any employee who regularly interacts with your clientele. Maintaining a highly-trained staff, ready to deal with difficult situations, is vital to the safety of both your patrons and your employees. We hope you will take advantage of this important opportunity.
Topics of instruction include:
Starting your shift - including proper equipment and pre-shift checks
Screening patrons - maintaining line queues, checking ID, dress code enforcement, weapon checks, etc.
Maintaining a safe environment - interior patrol tactics, stopping problems before they start
Handling problem situations - understanding appropriate use of force, de-escalating situations, calling 9-1-1, report writing
Rolling/Soft closes - shutting down and dispersing patrons
There are only 3 open Security Training classes left. To allow more time to plan and register we have moved the August class so the remaining open classes are Sept. 13, Oct. 18, and Nov 15. $50 fee required.
