Get moving, get active, get prizes. Making the decision to try traveling car free can be a hard one. The Walk Bike Ride Challenge is a good way to help you increase walk, bike and ride transit more and be entered for great prizes that can include electric bikes and gift certificates to REI. Participants get encouragement; direct feedback on how many miles of driving and carbon they have save; and a current tally of the number of chances earned for the prize drawing. The more weeks reported the higher chance one has of winning. Try it with family, friends and neighbors. The Challenge is on!

Background
In 2010, the Seattle Department of Transportation launched the Walk Bike Ride Challenge. The program runs in two month cycles and continues to gain in popularity. In 2011, 1,886 people registered to cut two car trips per week and walk, bike and ride more.  Our goal is to have over 2,100 new people give it a shot by 2014.
