Report on Clean Seattle Initiative

 

81st Clean & Green Seattle - International District

On Saturday, April 17, 2008, Mayor Greg Nickels led more than four-hundred and fifty (450) volunteers as they cleaned Lake Union and its surrounding shores.  Participants included Albert Shen, Board Chair SCIDPDA; Jo Figurelli, WaMu (sponsor) Washington Mutual, State Farm, Vulcan, Intl Parking Mgmt, Seattle Int’l District Rotary, Starbucks, Solid Ground, International District Emergency Center & Interim removed more than 2,500 pounds litter and debris from our local waters.

Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Department of Corrections, King County DAJD and Seattle Public Utilities also assisted in the effort. Anthony Harris took digital photographs.
