Community Outreach

  • DON worked with residents and community members to select locations, recruit volunteers and decide on residents' areas of concern

  • Used CSI event to bring neighbors to the recently remodeled Greenwood Elementary School

Volunteer Activity

  • Volunteers completed plantings around the readerboard at entrance to Greenwood Elementary School.

  • 90 storm drains were stenciled with messages along Greenwood Avenue, from 65th to 90th, along 85th NW and 3rd Avenue NW. More than 80 drains were stenciled with the message "dump no waste, drains to bay".

  • Ten cubic yards of playground wood chips were delivered to the Phinney Neighborhood Center on Friday the 20th. On Saturday the 21st, four volunteers helped spread and level the wood chips on the children's play area. Center staff were thankful for the wood chips.
