Report on Clean Seattle Initiative

 

82nd Clean & Green Seattle - Lake Union

Lake Union - On Saturday, May 17, 2008, Mayor Greg Nickels led more than two-hundred and fifty (250) volunteers as they cleaned Lake Union and its surrounding shores.  Participants from more than thirty businesses and organizations including Adobe, Brown Bear Car Wash, Floating Homes Association, Kenmore Air, NW Yacht Brokers Association, REI, Seattle Parks Foundation, Seattle Parks & Recreation, Center for Wooden Boats, Vulcan Real Estate West Marine used kayaks and boats to remove more than 3,500 pounds litter and debris from our local waters.

Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Department of Corrections, King County DAJD and Seattle Public Utilities also assisted in the effort. Anthony Harris took digital photographs.
