Report on Clean Seattle Initiative

 

78th Clean & Green Seattle - Beacon Hill

Dr Jose Rizal Park. On Saturday, March 15, 2008, Seattle Department of Neighborhoods’ Director Stella Chao, on behalf of Mayor Greg Nickels, led more than one hundred-thirty (130) volunteers to remove brush, plant trees, spread mulch and pick up litter.

More than 2,500 pounds of brush was removed. Volunteers were given home energy kits. Seattle Parks and Recreation, the Department of Neighborhoods, Seattle Department of Transportation, the Department of Corrections and Seattle Public Utilities also assisted in the effort. Photos were taken.
