11/25/03 Save the Date! Mayor to Release South Lake Union Draft Report on Investment Returns

Plan to attend! Mayor Greg Nickels will release a draft report on the return on investment, to the city and to the state, from potential public and private investment in South Lake Union. Please come Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. to Seattle City Hall, 1st floor Bertha Landes room, for a presentation by the mayor, Paul Sommers, the author of the study and noted University of Washington economist, and city staff. The event is open to the public, and everyone is invited to ask questions. This event is part of the mayor's efforts to attract thousands of new jobs to South Lake Union, make major transportation improvements, and move forward on the neighborhood plan. Please come! 06/09/03 Mayor statement on the Council's June 9th resolution on South Lake Union

"This is a great step by the Council that affirms our direction for creating jobs and building a great neighborhood at South Lake Union," said Nickels. "This will allow us to move ahead on critical investments in transportation, parks, utilities and other community amenities to make this vision a reality. My thanks to Councilmembers Compton and Drago for leading this important step."
