The Neighborhood Matching Fund supports partnerships between the City of Seattle and neighborhood groups. All Neighborhood Matching Fund projects are imagined, planned, and implemented by community members with financial support and technical assistance from the City. Neighborhood groups match the City dollars with volunteer labor, donated professional services, donated materials, and cash. The Fund has been used for creating public art, designing and building new parks and playgrounds, constructing P-Patch community gardens, creating neighborhood history projects, supporting race and social justice projects, and much more. Over the last 20 years, Neighborhood Matching Fund awards of over $42 million have been made to 3,600 projects. Community match has generated an additional $64 million.
