Due to popular demand - Seattle City Light's powerhouse tours are now being offered six days in 2013! They fill fast - so don't wait. These tours are led by Seattle City Light employees who work at the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project. The journey begins with a guided walking tour of the historic company town of Newhalem, followed by visits to the Gorge Powerhouse Visitor Gallery and Ladder Creek Falls Gardens. After seeing the sights of Newhalem, you will be transported to the town of Diablo where you will be able to see the interior of Diablo Powerhouse from the beautiful art-deco lobby and viewing gallery. Afterwards, you will be welcomed to a delicious, organic and locally-sourced lunch at the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center. To top the adventure off, you will board the Cascadian for an enjoyable boat trip on Diablo Lake, leading you to the rare opportunity of seeing the interior of Ross Powerhouse before returning to Newhalem.
