City Light
       Strategic Plan

Your Energy Future - what will it look like and where will our power come from today and in the future?

Planning for low cost, reliable power is a challenge in today's carbon constrained world. At Seattle City Light, we are fortunate to have an abundance of low cost, clean, renewable hydro-electric power. However, new state, regional and federal regulations require us to identify new, renewable energy sources - in fact, 15% of our power must come from new renewables by 2020.

And we face other challenges, such as ensuring we have a highly skilled and trained work force. The competition is keen for skilled workers and we need to be able to recruit, hire, train and retain employees.

A part of our planning process includes engaging key audiences in a discussion about City Light's challenges and opportunities ahead. We need to be thinking long term and we need to be thinking strategically about how we will approach meeting the energy needs of our customers. This Website will help guide you through our strategic plan efforts, as well as identify for you opportunities to join the discussion about Your Energy Future. Read the draft plan.

If you would like more information, or if you would like to schedule a discussion/presentation for your organization or group, please contact Corey Knutsen, Director of Strategic Planning, (206) 615-0243 or corey.knutsen@seattle.gov
