SEATTLE-- Seattle City Light is soliciting proposals for its new Wildlife Research Program. This grant program will fund selected scientific research projects relevant to the wildlife resources existing within or affected by: the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project, the North Cascades National Park Complex, and the Skagit Valley and North Cascades in the United States.
The proposed research project should advance the development of new scientific information and methods that extend the understanding, management and protection of wildlife and ecosystems in these areas.
The Wildlife Research Program is funded by Seattle City Light as part of the 1991 Settlement Agreement to mitigate for impacts to wildlife resulting from the ongoing operation of the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project. The Program is administered by an interagency Wildlife Research Advisory Committee.
