Update: Power outages in multiple neighborhoods throughout City Light’s service territory
SEATTLE - Nine power outages are affecting up to 19,231 customers in the northeast, northwest and southeast neighborhoods, West Seattle, Burien, Unincorporated Arbor Lake and Lake Forest Park. The causes of the outages, where known, are snow and trees in the lines. Seattle City Light crews are responding to investigate and to repair the outages.

City Light reminds customers to stay safe:
* During an outage, never use barbecue grills or generators inside the house or in a garage. This grills and generators must be used outside, and away from open windows and vents to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
* Residents should always be ready with emergency supplies for at least three days for each person and pet. Items to include are a hand-crank or battery-operated flashlight and radio, fresh batteries, a survival blanket, manual can opener, a first aid kit, hand sanitizer, non-perishable food and water, at least one gallon of water per person per day. Do not use candles or items with an open flame that may be a fire hazard.
* Close doors, windows, curtains, and unused fireplace dampers to retain heat if there is an outage. Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible. Discard refrigerated perishable foods after four hours without power.

Customers experiencing outages should call our Outage Hotline at 206-684-7400 for recorded information about existing outages, and to report new outages that are not mentioned. During business hours, call 206-684-3000.
Call (206) 706-0051 to report any wires that are down.
If someone sees a downed wire, assume the wire is "live" and dangerous. Back away from the line, going the same way you got in. Do not get any closer to the wire.
