Seattle City Light has Additional Crews Working to Restore Power
SEATTLE - Seattle City Light crews are working through the night to repair damage from a storm that brought winds in excess of 40 mph to the Puget Sound area Saturday afternoon, toppling trees and causing power outages for thousands of Seattle City Light customers.
An estimated 14,000 customers were affected by the storm. At the height of the outages, about 10,000 customers were without power at the same time. By 9 p.m. the number of customers without power had been cut to about 2,000. The outages were scattered throughout City Light’s service territory.
City Light called in additional crews in advance of the storm in expectation of the outages. Those crews were working to restore power as quickly as possible. Full restoration of service to all customers was not expected until sometime Sunday.
