Update: Most of North Seattle Power Outage Restored
SEATTLE - Overnight, Seattle City Light crews restored power to the majority of customers in north Seattle who were affected by an outage that began just before 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon.
That outage initially affected about 4,000 customers, including the Northgate Mall, and occurred when a high-voltage transmission line dropped onto distribution lines below, causing two feeders to fail. There are residual effects from yesterday’s outage affecting a total of 372 customers. The boundaries are:
North: N.E. 102nd St.
South: NE 97th St.
East: 11th Ave. NE
West: 8th Ave. NE
Customers out: 86
North: N.E. 125th St.
South: NE 120th St.
East: 14th Ave. NE
West: Roosevelt Way NE
Customers out: 286
The cause of these power losses: Vulnerable equipment failed under the stress of the original outage. Restoration is estimated by noon today.
