Power Outage in Shoreline Area and U-District
SEATTLE - Power outages in the Shoreline area and the University District/Wallingford areas have disrupted electric service to approximately 5,197 customers this afternoon.
The first outage, which happened just before 2 p.m., occurred when crews, working on high-voltage transmission lines, dropped a line onto distribution lines below, causing two feeders to fail. Crews are on the scene and making repairs with an estimated restoration time of about 4 p.m. today. About 3,853 customers are without power.
Boundaries of the outage on one line are: north: N.E. 120th St.; south: N.100th St.; east: 11 Ave. N.E.; west: Fremont Ave. N.
Boundaries for the second line affected are: north: N.E. 114th St.; south: N.E. 95th St.; east: 8th Ave. N.E.; west: Fremont Ave. N.
In addition, there is an outage in the University/Wallingford area near I-5 affecting 1,050 customers. The outage happened at 2:12 p.m. this afternoon. The boundaries are: north: 62nd St.; south: 45th St.; east: 5th Ave. N.E.; west: 6th Ave. N.W. The cause and the restoration time for this outage are unknown at this time.
